Ladybug Lottie

  Ladybug Lottie   Lottie the Ladybug was a bug you see. But she wanted to be human like you and me.   All the bugs in her garden would laugh and say, “That is weird when you act like a human that way.”   She wore clothes made of flowers and stood on two feet. And She gathered a few sticks to fashion a seat.   She practiced her manners and always said please. Other bugs would laugh when she pardoned her sneeze.   She was different from others but followed her heart. One day from her village she needed to part.   The plants had all died and the water ran dry. Some bugs were upset, but Lottie needn’t cry.   She packed up her things and set out on a journey. She followed a path that was strait, and not swirly.   Soon in her path she saw, very faint… A quaint little village guarded by a saint.   The gates opened up as she walked tall and proud, And inside she could see the most delightful crowd.   “Hello, and good day” cheered the bugs ...

The Little Ones Who Call Me Mom

  The Little Ones Who Call Me Mom     The clock is ticking and I can hear it. The silence is peaceful and calm. This is a rare occasion and I revere it. But I truly cherish the little ones who call me mom.   I love the sweetness and innocence. I love the laughter and giggles. I love the learning of words and cents. I love the dances and body wiggles.   I love the dimples that come with smiles. I love the little body dressed up for ballet. I love the sound effect and dinosaur piles. I love the kicks and pushes from my belly each day.   I love the sponge minds that soak up what I teach. I love the desire for worksheets and coloring. I love to see where their imagination can reach. I love to read and discover and all the exploring.   I thought when they were babies,  I’d miss them that way. But now that they are children, I pray “this way, forever stay”   But I embrace the upcoming, I know we will be just fine. They may not be as forthcoming, Ye...
